JEFF HELLER'S STATEMENT (Fall 2004)As I am honored to serve another
term on the Ramsey Borough Council, I want to use this opportunity to talk
about what I've done to serve taxpayers. Ramsey is a good and
decent town with many fine people. That's why when I first ran for
Council I pledged to treat your tax dollars as it they were mine.
I've kept that pledge. Good, smart, efficient government, begins
when government uses ONLY what it needs, because I believe YOU spend your
own money better than any government can.
During my time on Borough Council, with my training and genuine
concern for taxpaying families, I have become expert in the Borough budget,
taxes, and spending. Part of the reason Ramsey is the excellent
town it is, result from years of fiscal discipline and a real reluctance
to raise taxes. Recently it is obvious, I have become your
fiscal WATCHDOG, identifying needless spending, challenging waste,
telling the truth about taxes & debt, exposing those who want to take
Ramsey taxpayers for an expensive ride.
The public knows the values I stand for, and that I'm NOT fooled by the
amateurs now in the game at Borough Hall. Similarly, as an
experienced Council member representing YOU, I am intimately familiar
with the resources Ramsey needs to access at the county, state and
federal levels. Honest, worthwhile experience counts and brings
value for taxpayers.
Finally, I was to thank you for allowing me to continue to represent YOU, because I BELIEVE:

Needless bonding and debt is a "back door" increase of our taxes

My absence from the Borough Council would give "license" to those who
"talk fiscal Discipline" but waste your tax dollars
